Dropshipping delivery guide

This guide is intended for companies working in Dropshipping. It has been created in order to help you in setting up the shipping costs on your e-commerce site.

Dropshipping is a service that includes storage, order preparation, packaging, and delivery to your customer.

 

1- A customer places an order on your shop and pays the product.

2- Order validated, got cash! Order your sold product on our website.

3- Our team is responsible for the preparation and shipping of the product. It is shipped directly from our warehouse to your customer on your behalf.

4- A tracking number is sent to you by the end of the day, allowing you to follow the delivery of the package and inform your customer. You will be able to communicate it to the Colissimo services in case of questions relating to the expedition.

 

The end customer is your customer, he receives a package in which is placed a delivery note in your name and with your logo if you haven downloaded it into your account. 

Dropshipping orders usually do not exceed 1 kg.

Be sure to correctly create the geographic areas because the set of services is not available in each country.

Point relais commerçantIf you want to offer the relay merchant point delivery, you need to create a carrier

Attention, you will have to install one of the two La Poste modules on your web site:

  • Colissimo Simplicité (free)
  • Colissimo Flexibilité (paying but more complete)

You will have to open a Colissimo account with La Poste to obtain your identification numbers. You can use it to send parcels and to indicate us the coordinates of the relay point selected by your customer. 

You must provide us with the exact coordinates of the relay merchant point where we will send the order. This relay point must be part of the pickup relay network. In case you did not mention any information, we'll chose one relay in the list

Bureau de posteIf you want to offer the delivery in post office, you need to create a carrier

You have to to provide us with the exact coordinates of the post office where we will send the order. In case you did not mention any information, we'll chose one Post office in the list.

Colissimo internationalIf you want to offer delivery outside Europe (La Poste area information), you need to create a carrier

"International Home delivery with signature Colissimo".

The delivery cost will be determined according to the volumetric weight of the package and the geographical area.

In order to calculate the taxable weight, it is necessary to note the actual dimensions of the package and to apply the following calculation: [L(cm) x l(cm) x h(cm) / 5000]. The retained weight will be the higher between the volumetric weight thus obtained or the actual weight of the package.

Ex: You want to ship an order for Martinique, to Fort de France. As soon as we receive your order in our system, we prepare the package to obtain its dimensions.

  • Actual dimensions: 26 x 20 x 18 cm
  • Actual weight: 0.8 kg
  • Volumetric weight: (26 x 20 x 18) / 5000 = 1.872 kg

The taxable weight retained by La Poste Colissimo is 1.872 kg and not 0.8 kg. The weight range on our Colissimo International grid is therefore 1 to 2 kg.

You will have to pay the shipping costs and send us your invoice for customs clearance purpose at destination, so that we can send the package to your customer.
